About Me
I am qualified as a relationally integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults over the age of 18. Life can feel overwhelming at times with demands on you from relationships, work and difficult life events or just a sense that something is not right. Always with a non-judgmental approach, I can help you explore and gain insight into your thoughts, feelings and experiences and I will work alongside you to find ways to make changes and help you to gain a sense of balance in life that can make you feel better.
It can take courage to reach out for support, but you will be met by me with empathy and acceptance. My aim is to provide a welcoming and safe space where you feel heard, supported and able to express how life feels for you.
The relationship that you build with your therapist is the key to positive outcomes so to help you make sure that therapy with me is the right choice for you, I offer a 15 minute consultation by phone or online with no obligation.
Working relationally means that my relationship with you will be at the heart of our work together. I integrate psychotherapeutic theory so that the therapy I provide is personal and meaningful to you, tailored to your needs.
A person-centred approach forms the basis of my work; I am guided by your experience and the direction that you take. My knowledge of attachment theory informs how we can think about relationships, in the past, currently and how they may be in the future. I have had training in Transactional Analysis which informs how we can view relationships and our interactions with others and find ways to make change.
Some of the areas I can help you with include anxiety and depression, bereavement, family, parenting and relationship issues, work related stress, dealing with life transitions, self-esteem, health and well-being.
I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Leeds Beckett University and have completed the Introduction to Transactional Analysis with Northside Training.
I have experience working in a GP surgery, older adults and outside counselling, extensive experience in education.
